The club serves a large area in and around Lincoln, including Rolleston, Burnham, Springston and Prebbleton.  For contact information please see the About Us page.
COMMUNITY BOWLS - 2022

Due to the present Covid-19 settings, only Section 2 of Community Bowls will be bowling next Monday 31 January.  All team leaders of Section 2 will be contacted by phone.  Going forward Section 1 and Section 2 will bowl alternate weeks, except there will be no bowling on Waitangi weekend, Monday 7 February.  Please see below for further information and new photographs.

LADIES NEWS

Ladies

With the announcement on the 23rd of the Covid settings changing to Red, we encourage that masks be worn in the club rooms unless seated for lunch.  This is in line with Bowls New Zealand recommendations.

Congratulations to Barbara Coetzee and Margie Watson winning the Ellesmere Women's pairs last Friday. (Refer LBC website for a photo of the winners).  Well done to all the Lincoln ladies that entered and especially to those that qualified for Post Section play. (Results can be viewed on the Ellesmere Sub Centre website).

Results from the Women's Quadrangular played on Saturday at Ashburton:-
Senior's won by Mid Canterbury followed by Ellesmere and Malvern. 
Development also won by Mid Canterbury followed by Malvern and Ellesmere. 
Well done to the Lincoln players as advised last week that took part.

ELLESMERE ENTRIES

Hi all. 

The Ellesmere Web Site is open for entries for the COC Fours on Feb 6th.  Entries close 3rd Feb. Players names and substitutes should be sent to either David Pugh-Williams or myself before Feb 6th. 

Entries are also open for the Junior Men`s and Women`s Singles on 13th Feb and Mixed Fours on 26th Feb. Mixed Fours teams may be all men, all women or mixed. 

Also to remind you that the Host club is responsible for sending in the results for the 5`s. Getting busy.

THE LADIES IRENE McKEE TROPHY - DECEMBER

The Ladies Irene McKee Trophy is played Wednesday mornings during the Summer season.  Points are scored for wins, draws and taking part and are recorded as a cumulative total.

HIRE OF CLUB FACILITIES

The Clubhouse, Outdoor Carpet Bowling Green and Bar Service are available for hire. Please see our Hire our Facilities web page.
THE LBC COVID-19 VACCINATIONS POLICY
Extract from the December Newsletter

As from Saturday, 4th December, no-one will be able to participate in any Lincoln Bowling Club, or Bowls Canterbury events unless they have been double vaccinated.  As a condition of entry to our facilities (clubrooms or greens), any member, visiting team member, guest, workman/women or visitor aged 12 and over, must agree to provide, written or electronic evidence of their COVID-19 vaccination certificate to a Lincoln Bowling Club designated official, on request.

If there is anyone who is not double jabbed and has been selected to play in a team, please let me know, or contact Bruce, Lois or the selector of the team, as you will not be allowed to play, all players must be double jabbed.

Those members who are playing at Lincoln on Saturdays, please arrive early to allow time to check vaccination compliance.  Members who are to be playing at another club, if you do not have proof of double vaccination you will not be allowed in the gate.

ACCESS TO THE GREENS FROM THE REAR ENTRANCE IS CLOSED

The access to the greens via the gate from North Belt is closed.  This is so that one person can check vaccination compliance at the front entrance from the main car park.  Members and visitors are therefore advised to use the car park shared with the Lincoln Event Centre.  Please also have your Covid-19 vaccination certificate to hand.

COMMUNITY BOWLS 2022 - UPDATE

Community Bowling started again at 6pm on Monday 17 January and will continue every Monday at the same time.  However, due to the Red setting of the Covid-19 protection framework, each Section, 1 & 2, will bowl alternate weeks, starting with Section 1 on 24 January.

However, there will be no bowling Waitangi weekend, Monday 7 February.

There are 32 teams of 4 people each enrolled this year.  Every team plays 2 games of 40 minutes, each alternate week, against different opposition each time.

The Team List, Draws and results so far, for each Section of this years Community Bowls, have been posted on our Draws and Results page.  Please go to the very end of that page and click/tap on the links as required.

There are new photographs on this page and in The Gallery.

We wish 'Good bowling' to all of this years players in both Sections.

OVER 60 SEVENS STARTING MONDAY 31ST OF JANUARY

Mundy has sent out the team selections and transport times for the Over 60's Sevens by email on 24 January.  

Last season we had Lincoln 3 advance to the finals of the play-offs and Lincoln 2 to the semis.

If your name is in the squad then please be sure to read the email and respond to Mundy if there are any problems.

The Friday evenings games of 3Fives are a great success. It has been decided to continue for at least a few more weeks.  Remember you can bring family or friends who will be most welcome.

JOIN OUR CLUB

Now is the time to Join us.  Our Summer bowling season still has a few months to go and this year is the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the club.  We also provide Winter Bowling options, both outdoors on the all-weather green and indoors on the carpet (with full size bowls).

We welcome potential members who are new to bowls as well as experienced bowlers moving into the area.
